  • Keelan Wedeking - 4th & 5th

Keelan Wedeking is a 4th & 5th grade teacher at Reign Christian Academy. Keelan was born and raised in South Denver. Growing up he experienced various forms of education including public, private, and charter. God first invited Keelan to practice faith through action sports, namely skiing; this is where he learned how growth comes through perseverance.

After graduating from Valor Christian High School, Keelan started a clothing business and earned his degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Colorado Denver. During that time, he also completed Discipleship Training School through the University of the Nations and Youth With A Mission, where he witnessed what it looks like to abandon everything and follow Jesus. Keelan was challenged with the question: what if we took Jesus's words seriously? In an attempt to answer the question, God planted a dream in him to start a school which lead him into education. From 2021-22 Keelan completed his licensure program through Colorado Christian University (CCU) and worked as a 6th-grade ELA teacher at a charter school in Aurora. At CCU, Keelan will be earning his Master's in Instruction and Curriculum in the Spring of 2024. His mission is to partner with God in helping to expand his Kingdom here on Earth, through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and education.

During his time at Colorado Christian University, Brian worked as a Teaching Assistant and served in the Writing Center as a Writing Consultant. Additionally, he served as a Resident Assistant and an Assistant Resident Director, overseeing and leading a team of RAs through programmatic and interpersonal efforts. At Wellspring Church, Brian has taught 3rd/4th grade Sunday School since the spring of 2022.

Brian believes students today are untapped wells of potential who deserve a seat at the table in the discussion and contemplation of diverse and difficult topics. More than anything, Brian hopes to show students that they truly are the αγαπητός, the beloved, of God. With a faith rooted in the gentle and lowly heart of Christ, he hopes students may come to know and love the First Love through the beauty and wonder of education.

  • Monica Barrera

Monica Barrera - Neighborhood Engagement and Family Support

My name is Monica Barrera, and I am the Neighborhood Engagement and Family Support Officer at Reign Christian Academy. My role here is to connect families with the resources and support they need so that each child and family can thrive in their academic and personal journey. My faith in Christ is the foundation of everything I do. This faith inspires me to work with dedication and love.

In addition to my work at the school, I am passionate about enjoying life. I love the beach, and I greatly enjoy spending quality time with my family—it's my source of joy and energy. I am a very cheerful and enthusiastic person, and I always try to see life with a positive outlook.

I enjoy reading books regularly because I believe that knowledge and reflection are key to personal growth. I also believe in the importance of achieving balance between the mind and body, which is why I train regularly. I know that a healthy mind needs a healthy body. And of course, I love dancing to tropical music! It’s a fun way to stay active and connected to the joy of life.

I have been blessed to have administrative experience and to work with families from various nationalities, helping and supporting them in everything they need. As a paraprofessional in a school in the Denver District and with my substitute teaching license from DPS, I have learned that childhood education is vital for transforming lives and changing the future. And, of course, I firmly believe that the presence of Christ in our lives is key to guiding our children on the right path.

My passion is connecting with people. I am here to serve and help build a strong and united community, where our children not only grow academically but also spiritually. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of this wonderful community. I am available for any questions or support you may need.
